Still undecided on whether to attend?

The last conference was held on Saturday 1st April at the Mayday University Hospital, 31 students attended in total. So as to give you an unbiased opinion we have given the feedback of all those who attended.

100% of students that attended confirmed that they would recommend M&D conferences to a friend.

1.I'd just like to say thank you so much for the conference, it was so useful. I have since spoken to people who have been on other conferences, (like Medlink) and not to make you too big headed, but they did not appear to be as good as the M&D one. The fact that you were so honest with us was really good, most places put a gloss on medicine as a career and do not give a very realistic opinion.

When, for example, teachers at school are telling us what to expect we really have to take it with a pinch of salt, after all what do they really know about a career in medicine?

Having real doctors tell us about their experiences has to have been one of the most useful aspects, for me, of the conference. The knowledge I came away from the conference I consider to be priceless, and has left me wondering, what the hell are those who don't going to expect? Surely they must be running blindly into a lifelong career?

I have since been to Medical school open days and there is a lot they don't tell you which I already knew from the M&D Conference.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you very much, really enjoyed this conference, it has really opened my eyes, thankfully it has encouraged me to follow the path of medicine with more confidence on what to expect and I will most definitely be recommending the conference to friends and...well to anyone who will listen!

2.I had a really good time, not once did I get bored. All the people were really friendly and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed.

3.Due to the amount of people, I felt I could ask any questions and the team were very helpful and informative with answering them. It made everything a bit clearer for me especially in the future as what I had heard from other sources (eg: intercalated degrees) was quite confusing. I had previously been to Medlink which compared to them was quite badly organised and a lot bigger.
It was also helpful and interesting in a different way. It gave me a lot of information about different specialties. Alternatively this conference gave me a taster of the more practical pains of the job as well as general information about the good and bad points of the career and university.
